Furthermore, the city is built on travertine, a particular marble found in the area and which offers truly unique scenarios such as Piazza del Popolo, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Furthermore, Ascoli is home to the "Giostra della Quintana", a historical re-enactment, famous throughout the world, which is held twice during the year.
